1. Who these terms apply to
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of theadaptationproject.club(the “Site”), operated by The Adaptation Project (“TAP”). By accessing the Site or submitting any data through it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. Club membership and the audition process
TAP membership is not granted automatically. Prospective members must attend a meeting as a guest, present an original critique of a book-to-screen adaptation, and receive approval from the existing club membership. TAP reserves the right to admit or decline any applicant at its sole discretion.
AI-generated content is strictly prohibited in any audition presentation. Submitting AI-written or AI-assisted analysis is grounds for immediate rejection and permanent ineligibility.
Membership may be revoked at any time for conduct that the club determines to be harmful, disruptive, or contrary to TAP's values.
3. Guest RSVP
When you register as a guest for a TAP event, you represent that the information you provide (name, email) is accurate. You agree to receive a one-time verification email from hello@bookflix.app as part of the registration process. Guest registrations are non-transferable.
4. Content on this site
All original content on this Site — blog posts, editorial copy, design — is the property of The Adaptation Project. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or republish it without written permission.
Book titles, film titles, author names, and studio names referenced on this Site are the property of their respective rights holders. TAP makes no claim of ownership over these works. All commentary is editorial opinion under fair use / fair dealing.
Photos in the gallery are uploaded by BookFlix members and remain the property of the individuals who captured them.
5. BookFlix integration
This Site connects to the BookFlix backend to display event data, RSVP counts, and gallery photos. BookFlix is a separate product with its own terms and privacy policy. TAP is not responsible for the availability or accuracy of data served by the BookFlix API.
6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
This Site is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. TAP does not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access to the Site or its data.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TAP shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this Site.
7. Conduct
You agree not to use this Site to harass, impersonate, or harm others; to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system; to submit false RSVP registrations; or to scrape or automate requests to the Site in ways that degrade its performance.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
